Dating is fun

Seriously, who came up with this stupid activity? As a long time victim and (forgive me) perpetrator of said social sadomasochism, I am hereby proposing an end to dating as we know it. This includes, but is not restricted to, the following:

1. Dating to marry - Is it really dating if you're thinking of marriage? No, it isn't. It is planning ahead with a clear goal in mind.

2. Dating not to marry (D.N.M.) - This is not to be confused with casual dating. Casual dating is often confusing to either or both of the parties involved; however, there is an unspoken agreement that neither party can ever bring this confusion to light. Even the slightest acknowledgment of such natural (and therefore lame) feelings is a rational raincloud upon an otherwise blue blissful sky of avoidance. Dating not to marry, on the other hand, is a much more complicated phenomenon, usually involving the infamous "18 to 24" age group. One reason D.N.M is so difficult to grasp is because there seem to be no advantages, rewards, or incentives for either party.
